It’s been all go at the Siren FM studios for the past few weeks and it’s time for a rather belated update on all station related news. In recent weeks we’ve seen the arrival of two new shows with one more on the way next week.
Meanwhile, City Vibe has returned to the airwaves with it’s new shorter title and The Siren Mixer has moved to the new time of 7pm to 9pm following the departure of Leon Sherman. Leon is moving to London to further his career and we all wish him the best of luck for his time in the capital.
Our first new show to take to the airwaves was The Sports Siren (Tuesday’s 9pm – 10pm). The show has now been on air for a couple of weeks and the team will be bringing you all the latest local sports news along with the scores from sports around the world.
Last Sunday saw our second new show take to the airwaves, The Siren Surgery (Sunday’s fortnightly 4pm -5pm). The Siren Surgery is presented by Edward Hortop and Kathleen Drury and they’re going to be discussing issues that can affect everybody on a day to day basis. Their first show looked at finance and to find out what they are going to be discussing in future programmes you can check out their show page.
Finally, a new show is coming to Siren next Wednesday between 3pm and 4pm. This show is called New Wave and is being produced by Media Production students from the university. The programme is an opportunity for the students to showcase their work, not only from the radio department but also from television, photography, design and digital media too. Make sure you tune in to find out what the students have been doing in the first semester of the academic year.
In the next few weeks we are going to be finalising our Christmas schedule so look out for future news about what you can expect from Siren over the festive season!
