Actor Sir Christopher Lee passes away aged 93

Famous for his roles in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, the Star Wars saga and Dracula amongst others, Sir Christopher was a much loved and respected actor.

Also known for his deep and distinctive voice, he sometimes took time off the screen to head his own heavy metal band.

He had been treated at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for respiratory problems and heart failure over the preceding three weeks and turned 93 in hospital.
