Students from Lincoln College will be hosting their own Great Magna Carta Weekend celebration to mark the 800th anniversary of the historic document.

Saturday 13th June will see more than 30 students, tutors and staff from the College host a series of activities by Brayford Wharf North in the city.

Students from the College will be available to help members of the public to make their own Lincoln imps, take part in archery and rowing challenges. Hair and beauty students will be on hand to create their own medieval hair styles as well as face painting.

Some five hundred shortbread biscuits baked by students with learning difficulties will also be on offer, and catering students will also be at the event to hand out food and offer suggested medieval recipes.

Peter Merry, Director of Business Development at Lincoln College, said: “The activities have been organised to showcase the different courses available at the college. If you are interested in finding out more please drop by and speak to a member of the team who will be happy to help.”

Lincoln College is the largest educational institution in the county with some 10,000 students across three campuses in Lincoln, Gainsborough and Newark.
