A new exhibition is being held at the Lincolnshire Archives for just two days – on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th July.
Using original documents and photographs this exhibition will show the important contribution that Lincolnshire and its people made to the war effort during 1915.
The display will cover such topics as life in the trenches, county Victoria Cross winners, the development of the first tank and the beginnings of military aircraft production in Lincoln.
The major events of the year will also be examined, including the sinking of the Lusitania, the shelling of the troopship Mercian, the battles of Neuve Chapelle and Loos and the ill-fated Gallipoli landings.
Admission is free.
