Phase One of the International Bomber Command Centre project is now complete with the Memorial Spire and Wall of Names of the 26,296 aircrew who lost their lives flying from the Lincolnshire and adjacent airfields.
Construction work has been carried out by local company Lindum Construction. The structure is made of steel and takes the shape of a Lancaster Bomber wing.
Siren’s Sebastian Edgington-Cole and Ryan Jones went down to the memorial event and spoke with some of the key figures in its design, management and legacy.
