Station Update

Written by on 6th July 2011

Here is, a little bit later than promised, this week’s update of all the things happening here at Siren FM HQ.  We’ve got more show changes to tell you about this week as one show has finished, one programme has a line up change and a new show has started.

Lawrence Whitaker presented his final show with us last Thursday, he has been hosting a short series of programmes on Siren for the past couple of months and as he has completed his degree at the University he is now moving on.  We wish him the best of luck as he goes on to further his career.

Somebody else we will be saying goodbye to is Dom McAndrew, he has been involved with Siren for a total of 4 years now and he presented his last edition of End of the Week on the 25th of June.  As well as being one of the presenters on End of the Week he also played a crucial role in the delivery of Siren News as the station’s News Coordinator.  We’d like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him luck as he goes on to complete his Masters.  Liam Juniper will be attempting to fill Dom’s place on End of the Week for the next couple of months.

Tom Davies returns this week.

Our last piece of programming news sees the return of Tom Davies, he’s back from University for the Summer and will be presenting a series of shows through until September.  He’s on every week Monday to Wednesday between 9am and 11am and again on Friday along with Liam Juniper between 9am and 11am.

Summer School

You may have already heard the trails on air and hopefully you’ll have seen some of the coverage in the local press.  Siren FM is hosting a Summer School for two weeks in August, the first week will be for 10 to 12 year olds and the second week will be for 13 to 15 year olds.  Full details can be found on this web post, if you’re interested in the school make sure you get in touch as soon as possible because interest is high.

Keep an eye out for all the latest Siren news at the weekend.
