Hello again! It’s time for another update about all things Siren. First of all this week sees the last edition of the LYJA Takeover of No Adults Allowed as the Academy is now off for the Summer holidays. The show will be returning when the Academy resumes in the new academic year.
Siren Folk Special
This Sunday marks the anniversary of the Tupholme Folk Festival which took place 40 years ago to the day just outside of Bardney. To commemorate this occasion Alan Ritson has produced a documentary with Richard Treasure. They’ve managed to get interviews with all the acts that were there including Steeleye Span, Ralph McTell and The Byrds. The event is said to be the biggest music event to ever happen in the county and we will be exclusively broadcasting the documentary this Sunday between 10am and 12:30pm. You can find out more about the background of the event by visiting the Bardney Village History website.
The Tom Davies Show with Tom Davies
If you are member of Tom Davies’ group on Facebook you may have already noticed that he is dedicating the second hour of his show next Wednesday to local music. His aim is to fill the hour exclusively with music from the local area so if you’re in a band and you’d like to get some airplay send your music to him at email@example.com.
Siren Summer School
To round things up we’ve still got some places available on the Summer school that we are running in August. The first week is between the 8th and 12th August and is for 10 to 12 year olds; and the second week is between 15th and 19th August and is for 13 to 15 year olds. If you’re interested you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01522 886001 for more details.
That’s all for this week, look out for more soon.
