Welcome back to our blog.
The Rock Train welcomes music from around the world as well as around Lincolnshire.
On this week’s show we feature power metallers Guardians of Andromeda who sent Mikael to tell us about their music and their forthcoming double album. The band offer the whole package in terms of great melodic and interesting music and a visually exciting stage show. Everything about the band is dramatic and we are sure they will appeal to lovers of good music.
We also talk to Training Icarus who like Guardians of Andromeda played at Bloodstock Open Air Festival last summer. Training Icarus are fronted by Leigh whose voice is exciting and powerful. She joined us with lead guitarist Martin.
Both these bands hope to release a new album in the near future and we look ofrward to listening to their new music.
Nottingham band Wasteland visted us in Siren FM studios last November and we are delighted to say that their long awaiterd EP is now available. We play one of the tracks from the EP on the show. Wasteland recorded a great acoustic session with us last year and we play one of these tracks in this week’s show.
We were contacted a couple of weeks ago by Mithril who are from the Dominican Republic. They are a thrash metal band whose music has a dramatic feel and some amazing vocals. Our new friends have sent us some of their music already and we play ‘Judas Escariot’ which is a great track. We are looking forward to the postman bringing the new CD from these guys.
We also play a track from a fresh new band from Russia. We are still finding out more about the band fateful choice but their music shows that metal is alive and well in Russia. They say they may come over to the UK to play some shows so hopefully we will get a chance to speak to them.
This week we shine a spotlight on four more bands who will be playing at this year’s premier Metal Festival, Bloodstock in August, namely Anvil, Testament, sepultura and Paradise Lost. Listen out for a great opening track by Anvil wich sets the tone for the music that follows.
We are really looking forward to being at Bloodstock this year and we will continue the countdown to the festival on the next show with music from some more bands playing there.
In the next few shows we have some exciting interviews to brig you from local and not so local bands, including an interview with a member of an eagerly anticipated new band who have not yet played a show or recorded any music yet. All will be revealed in the weeks to come.
In the mean time check out our social media pages and feeds for more information and shout outs.
