As we near our 50th show its time for some reflection on what the show(s) have achieved in a very short time. We have gone from one show every other week to two shows every other week, primarily to accommodate all the extra good material we have built up. Acoustic sessions, festival specials, a nod to the ladies, it all makes for a varied show and one that we’re constantly building on. A massive amount of work goes into these shows, the groundwork to get the accreditations, the recording (we’ve been known to be in the studio at 12:30am, after a gig!) and the final editing makes for what we think is a well-balanced Rock/Metal buffet of bands. It’s not just the big festivals we attend, our love for discovering unsigned bands means we venture to festivals like ‘Metal Gods’, ‘SOS Festival’ and many other gigs. Its festivals like these that need your attendance and money; run by fans of the music for you to discover the next AC/DC or Iron Maiden, I’m positive we’ve already witnessed that band.

Kvelertak at Download. Amazing.

Kvelertak at Download. Amazing.

This week’s show(s) resumes the high quality we’ve set ourselves; we have new music from Avenged Sevenfold, band of the year Clutch, plus a plethora of local and unsigned bands for your listening pleasure. Our Download Special on Friday had to be increased to two shows! Due to the amount of material we had. This week we feature our interview with The Nameless Ghoul from Ghost, upcoming British band Heavens Basement, Hardcore Superstar and the fantastic Kvelertak….plus many more. We met so many people, it was great to see the bands excitement just after they had played, this is what they strive for and to be part of that is reward in itself.

A massive thanks to all who support the show, we try to play as many new bands we can, please keep sending your stuff and support local music venues and unsigned bands.

Until next time, I’ll leave you with some wisdom from David Lee Roth…“I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.”
