Lincoln Jazz Week

The Jazz Festival will come to Lincoln for its annual 9 day celebration of jazz music.
The Lincoln Jazz Week festival started on Friday the 9th of May and will run until Sunday the 18th of May.
Various locations hosted the events including Café Portico, Zing Bar at LPAC, Lincoln Drill Hall, Lincoln Hotel, Bar 67, Horse and Groom, DoubleTree by Hilton and The Collection Café.
On Friday the 9th of May the festival featured two jazz events on the day. One of these events was held at the LPAC building and did not require a fee to enter. The artist performing was the Stevie Smith Trio feat. Robin Porter.
The other jazz music event which took place on Friday the 9th of May included jazz artist Gascoyne/O’Higgins Quartet.
Over the course of the weekend the Lincoln Jazz festival saw four events take place. These included the Ben Martin Band, Double Take, the Andrew Wood Trio featuring Dave O’Higgins and Saturday evenings event called Jazz It Up.
During the week various acts performed including Lincolnshire’s Pat McCarthy, The Nicola Farnon Band, Dennis Rollins’ Veolcity Trio, Thom Whitworth’s Funky Organ, the Jazz Heritage Quintet and Zoe Rahman who hosted the Jazz Vehicle show.
The biggest and most well-known jazz act of the week that performed was the ‘Big Chris Barber Band’ who performed at the LPAC on Saturday the 17th of May.
