Get involved! Become a Siren FM Community Journalist

Written by on 11th September 2014

Do you have a keen interest in life in Lincoln?

Are you inquisitive to find out the stories behind the headlines?

Would you like to benefit from radio journalism training?

This is a great opportunity, whether you are a University or College student, or anyone in our City who would like to get involved. You would be working as a volunteer within a small and dedicated team who produce a live daily teatime news bulletin within our Drivetime show.

Can you offer us an afternoon a week of your time? There is a news briefing at 1.30pm then it is all hands on deck recording interviews, editing them into clips, collecting vox pops, writing copy and rehearsing.

You will benefit from industry training. This could launch your radio career.

Siren FM is an award-winning community radio station, currently East Midlands Station of the Year, based at the University of Lincoln. We work closely with the Lincoln School of English & Journalism, and community groups across the city.
