Making Money
Jon Thornes is a recent
entrant into the world of radio presenting, making the switch from
serial interviewee to presenter with the start of his Making Money
programme in 2008.
Jon's background is in dairy, and in
1998 he founded his company, Cool Milk, which offers free and subsidised milk to
over half-a-million children in the UK.
He has always taken an active part in
the business and cultural life of the region, and his entry into broadcasting on
Siren FM came about through his work as a Business Champion for the East
Midlands Development Agency.
His series, Making Money, features Jon
interviewing the leading lights of Lincoln's business world about doing business
in Lincoln, while also getting to know the people themselves and playing his
guests' five favourite records.
The first series of Making Money was
originally broadcast on Siren FM between 20 January and 13 April 2008. Guests
for the programme are drawn from the Lincoln business community, and are
interviewed by Jon Thornes, the founder and chairman of Cool Milk at School. The
programme aims to show the manner in which the guest tries to make money, while
also exploring their musical tastes and playing their five favourite music
tracks.
A 26-part second series is currently
in development, and will be broadcast during 2008.
