Food for Thought: chocolates and a 75th birthday party

Written by on 7th December 2012

This week was all about Rosella Gugliotta a chocolatier based in Lincoln who makes amazing specialist chocolates. Also all last week Stokes was celebrating 75 years of being based at their High Bridge cafe, and I went along to their VIP party to find out what they did for the occasion.

To listen to this week’s show you can listen below.

A few weeks ago at the Christmas food and gift fair as I was looking for local options to Christmas food essentials. Luckily I also found some interesting food people who haven’t been part of the show yet. One of them was Rosella from Okie Coco who kindly came to Siren to tell me more about what it is like to make chocolates.

Rosella chatted about how she started making chocolates, what inspires her to come up with new flavours and how in the future she would like her own chocolate cafe.

Listen to our chat in full here.

Stokes of Lincoln was established in 1902 but last week they were celebrating 75 years of their cafe being based at the High Bridge cafe on the High Street. Part of their celebrations was a VIP party on Thursday 29th November and I went along to find out why it was so important to celebrate the company’s history.

Next week is the start of my Christmas specials so expect plenty of food and Christmas songs. If you have any special Christmas recipes or know of any places doing a special Christmas menu then let me know and I will feature it on the programme.
