Theia Rocking The Extra Carriage back in 2013

Written by on 16th May 2013

Let me tell how it’s going to be…….It’s June 2018. ¬†Kyle, Paul and TJ from Burton band Theia are chatting backstage before they prepare to play the main stage at Download, supporting Alter Bridge on the Ozzy’s Still Sober Stage.

Kyle – ‘Guys, who remembers the first time we played an acoustic session for the radio?’

TJ – ‘Yeah, I remember. I was 15 at the time. It was for those rather tubby chaps Kev and Mark from Siren FM’

Paul – ‘Of Course I remember. It was for The Rock Train. We went in there, belted out 4 songs in one take then they did an interview with us that was so inspiring that young bands have been listening to it ever since’

Kyle – ‘Yeah that right lads. The Rock Train, Siren FM. Back in 2013. They were the first radio show to play our music and look where we are now. It’s 2018 and we are playing Download. ‘

TJ – ‘Heck, I never did understand a word that Welsh fella said during our visit but him and Kev believed in our music and they played our EP to death and told everyone how great we were.’

Paul– ‘ Yeah, The Rock Train. We’ll never forget how they helped us and all those other bands starting out.’

Kyle – ‘ I often think back and wonder whatever happened to that Kev and Mark’.

The End

THEIA can be heard Friday 17th May 8pm on The Rock Train Extra Carriage, repeating Saturday 19th May 9pm
