The Rock Train – the journey continues…

The Temperance Movement

As talk of a new high speed rail link continues to feature in the news we thought it was time to give The Rock Train some more horse power….Or guitar power! This week’s show is a damn heavy slab of Metal, we play some new Death Angel, Onslaught, Watain and many more in what has to be the closest to the Dark Lord we’ve ever dared to come. In order to restore the balance and ensure that the porthole to the ‘Other Side’ remains firmly closed we have a new Dream Theater track to complete proceedings.

Stay tuned until the end of the show to be in with a chance of winning a copy of their new self-titled album, we understand it’s a cracker. Interviews this week feature Brant Bjork of Vista Chino (formally Kyuss) who speaks to us from his home in California & Whippz from The Burning Crows.

As usual, best laid plans always conspire to throw a spanner in the works or in our case a virus in the drivers! With the studio’s computer system deciding to have a hissy fit we once again rose to the challenge and put in some exceptional hours to bring you another week of shows. Our Extra Carriage show this week features two festivals myself & Kev have attended this summer. The Metal Gods Festival & Cambridge Rock Festival brings two completely different styles of music to one show. From the awesome relaxed groove of Pearl Handled Revolver to British hopefuls The Temperance Movement and the Blues of Laurence Jones, Cambridge had it all. Metal Gods on the other hand was exactly as expected, a full on assault of our senses. Featuring Defy All Reason, Lifer, Savage Messiah and a whole lot more, we bring you all the action right to your ears.

With some big plans in the pipeline for the rest of the year stay tuned as we bring you the very best in local & international Rock/Metal acts. For now it’s time to move forward at high speed to the next gig. Thanks for listening Mark & Kev.
