Sophie’s Run book launch on the Midweek Drive

Posted: February 6th, 2013 | Author: | 2 Comments »

Join Alex Lewczuk on February 6th as the Midweek Drive hosts a special edition of the show with an on air book launch party – for Lincoln-based Nicky Wells publishes her second novel, Sophie’s Run. There’ll be special guests, readings, rock music, a give-away and a book signing.

About the book

Her famous star remains her rock while life takes her on a little detour…

So she has finally found the man of her dreams; well, she’s seen him, for sure! Yet rock star
and ex-fiancé, Dan, keeps getting in the way of her new romance—even if he is just trying
to be helpful. A fire, an impromptu mini-trip with Dan, and a dreaded wedding later, Sophie
is still struggling to meet the love of her life. Then, just as she is getting it together with her
perfect man, best friend Rachel commits an act of unspeakable betrayal. Sophie has had
enough. Surprising herself and shocking her friends, she embarks on a secret journey that
eventually gets her life back on track.

Well, what would a party be without guests? Popping in on the show will be:

THE HUSH ROCK BAND: We’ll be chatting with lead singer Jazmine and guitarist Lee!
NICK ELLIOTT: Renowned Rock Photographer Nick Elliott will be joining us on the phone to chat about his work and The Magic of Rock!
SAPPHIRE STAR PUBLISHING: Of course Katie Henson and Amy Lichtenhan would be there. What would a launch party be without my lovely publishers?
KIM THE BOOKWORM: Reviewer and book blogger extraordinaire, Kim Nash, will offer her perspective on the Rock Star Romance books.

Also joining telephonically will be Cameron Tilbury, CEO of MapleStar Music and Media, Phil Leirness, and Michele Monro, among others. What a line-up!

Celebrating the end of the Mayan Calendar

Posted: December 19th, 2012 | Author: | Comments Off

From 5pm on Thursday 20th December through to 6pm on Friday 21st December, The Midweek Drive Team will be broadcasting continuously to commemorate the end of the ancient Mayan calendar, at 11:11 UTC on 21st December 2012.

To mark the passing of the predicted apocalypse, Alex Lewczuk, has scheduled the unique trans-Atlantic broadcast with US film-maker and radio host Phil Leirness. Phil currently co-hosts Chillpak Hollywood on the American community radio station Combat Radio.

While ‘X-Files’ and ‘Lone Gunmen’ star Dean Haglund will be hosting the event from LA with director Ilana Rein and actress Lily Holleman, guests appearing on the show in the UK include Grand National commentator Malcolm Tomlinson, his actress daughter Eleanor Tomlinson, and ‘Ladette to Lady’ etiquette expert Liz Brewer.

Nashville publicist and manager Cameron Tilbury has scheduled many of his company’s artists to contribute to the show, including: Tonya Kennedy (from Barrie, Ontario), Darren Harmon of rock band Harmon (from Calgary, Alberta), Shane Gusé of The Western Swing Authority (from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario), Kenny Holliday (from Houston, Texas), Raintown (from Glasgow, Scotland), Lesley Curtis (from Oundle, England), Dee Allen of rockers Tall Dark Stranger (from Nashville, Tennessee), as well as Nashville songwriters Jo-Leah Tilbury and Seth Alley. Cameron Tilbury said: “We’re excited that so many of the artists we work with around the world are able to take part in this show. We’ve introduced many of these artists to regular listeners of Siren FM through our weekly segment on the station, ‘Live From Nashville.’”

Other features throughout the show include interviews with Sara Bullimore, live studio readings with Producer/writer Steve Cawte, Coronation Street & Doctor Who Director Graeme Harper and more. According to Siren FM’s Alex Lewczuk, “We aim to make this the very best `End of Mayan Calendar Show EVER `.”

So tune in to Siren FM for what could be the last show you ever hear… (alright, it probably won’t be, but it’ll still be a lot of fun!)
